2021 Dues Billing Coming This Week!
Billing for your N.A.R., C.A.R. and CVAR memberships, along with your MLS subscription, will be e-mailed this week. All billing is consolidated into one convenient bill that will be sent from CVAR, so watch your e-mail starting Dec. 1.
Zillow’s New Competition?
CoStar Group announced last Sunday that it will buy Homesnap, an app and technology provider for residential real estate agents, for $250 million, the Wall Street Journal reported. And just like that, the tilt of Zillow’s trajectory changed overnight.

FHFA Increase – The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) announced it will increase the 2021 conforming loan limits for mortgages acquired by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to $548,250 on one-unit properties and a cap of $822,375 in high-cost areas. The previous loan limits were $510,400 and $765,600, respectively. ( FHFA)
Santa Ana Winds This Week – Drier than usual conditions have some meteorologists concerned about the Santa Ana wind event projected to affect much of Southern California by the middle of this week. While these wind events are not atypical for the region this time of the year, there is usually some December rain to help provide a little moisture, said Kathy Hoxsie, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Los Angeles. IE Homebuying Stats – DQNews reports 7,649 residences in Riverside and San Bernardino counties sold in October – up 17% from a year earlier. It was the busiest October since 2008. Rates on a 30-year, fixed mortgage averaged 2.89% in the three months ending in October vs. 3.64% a year earlier. That translates to house hunters having 10% more buying power. (SB Sun)
