10 Buyer Beliefs to Debunk
When buyers first walk through the door, they bring in a lot of false truths. Here are 10 commonly held beliefs that agents may have to debunk.
Construction Exceeds Expectations
Housing starts and permits shattered expectations in July, both hitting recent highs for residential construction. Buyers look to suburbs, affordability. Multifamily surge.
Forbearance Extension – FHFA announced last Wednesday that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will continue buying qualified loans in forbearance through Sept. 30. In the week ending Aug. 9, lenders received nearly 55,000 forbearance requests, a modest decline from a week earlier. However, while the volume is relatively low, NAR notes that the threat of locking up lenders’ credit lines without this program could rise. (N.A.R.)
CA Reopening – Malls may reopen today (Aug. 31) in the purple tier at roughly 25% capacity. In addition, hair salons and barbershops can also reopen. Counties must remain at each tier for a minimum of 21 days. For a list of business sectors open by each county click the link. (CA Gov)
All But San Francisco – Home prices in the United States spiked 5.4% year over year in the second quarter in all but one city, according to the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) house price index (HPI). Prices increased in every U.S. city except San Francisco. (FHFA)
Census Count – A full count in each county means the proper share of dollars for roads, schools, etc. Fill out the Census here!
