Upland Sues City Over Development
A group of Upland residents has sued the city, asking the court to vacate approval of a 65-unit housing development to be constructed in a flood control basin.
Sales Record – Completed transactions of existing homes jumped a record 24.7% in July to a seasonally adjusted rate of 5.86 million, according to Friday’s report from the National Association of REALTORS®. Economists surveyed by Bloomberg had forecast a jump to a 5.41 million rate. “The housing market is well past the recovery phase and is now booming with higher home sales compared to the pre-pandemic days,” said Lawrence Yun, NAR’s chief economist. “With the sizable shift in remote work, current homeowners are looking for larger homes and this will lead to a secondary level of demand even into 2021.” (NAR)
Median Rises – The median sale price for luxury homes in the U.S. rose 1.2% year over year to $825,000 during the three months ending July 31. The rebound comes after a record decline in the spring, when luxury prices dropped 1.7% as the coronavirus pandemic forced the U.S. economy into a standstill. (Redfin)
