May 31 Deadline – NAR is funding 2-months of access to Members TeleHealth at no cost to our members, via the Right Tools, Right Now program.
Sales Data – Days on market was 15 days slower than last year, the biggest increase in time on market since 2013. New listings were down -28%, and total inventory was down -20%. If buyers come back to the market before sellers, we could see inventory declines grow larger. (REALTOR.com)
Existing Sales – As expected, existing home sales dropped in April, continuing what is now a two-month skid in sales brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. Home prices, however, are up 7.4 percent. (N.A.R.)
Property Management – Visit C.A.R.’s new Property Management and Leasing Resource Center to find the latest tools, articles, webinars, courses, and legal resources to help you grow a successful property management and leasing business. (C.A.R.)
Economic Fallout – The economic fallout from the coronavirus pandemic is hitting poorer Americans the most, erasing the job gains of the past decade. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell says that the key to a rebound will be public confidence, and feedback is crucial for conducting interest rate policy. Therefore, the central bank has scheduled a roundtable with the president of the AFL-CIO of Kansas City, the chancellor of the City Colleges of Chicago, and the president of the Preservation of Affordable Housing. REALTOR® Unemployment – California REALTORS® can apply for PUA through UI Online. They can create an account, file their claim, certify for continued benefits, verify income and update their information. To assist members in learning about and applying for this relief program, C.A.R. has created step-by-step illustrated instructions available here.
REALTOR® Hotline – NAR’s toll-free phone number for COVID-19 and real estate related questions is (800) 874-6500. Members also can call the hotline for the latest information on programs and services being developed to help in you business during this time. (N.A.R.)
