Home Showings On the Rise

Sellers Ready After Order Lifts

More than 3 in 4 potential sellers, 77%, are preparing to sell their homes following the end of stay-at-home orders, with half completing do-it-yourself home improvement projects, according to a new survey from the National Association of Realtors®.  About 5% said clients are shifting neighborhood preferences from urban areas to suburban areas due to COVID-19. Business Help – San Bernardino County is proposing $30 million to support small businesses through the COVID Compliant Business Partnership program, which still needs supervisors’ approval. To be eligible business owners must agree to follow public health guidelines for safely operating. (SB Sun)

Consumer Sentiment – After falling 11.7 points last month, the Fannie Mae Home Purchase Sentiment Index® (HPSI) decreased an additional 17.8 points in April to 63.0, its lowest reading since November 2011. (Fannie Mae)

Stimulus Misunderstandings – The Economic Impact Payment (typically $1,200) is not a loan, and does not have to be repaid. It will not be decreased for taxes owed, but will be for child support due. (MarketWatch)

CAR Director – Eligible members can apply to become a CAR Director by filling out the application and e-mailing to Mark@cvar.net by May 22, 2020. 

REALTOR® Unemployment – California REALTORS® can apply for PUA through UI Online. They can create an account, file their claim, certify for continued benefits, verify income and update their information. To assist members in learning about and applying for this relief program, C.A.R. has created step-by-step illustrated instructions available here.

REALTOR® Hotline – NAR’s toll-free phone number for COVID-19 and real estate related questions is (800) 874-6500. Members also can call the hotline for the latest information on programs and services being developed to help in you business during this time. (N.A.R.)
