Rail Work Affecting Roads Between Redlands, San Bernardino This Week

January 13, 2020

Construction work on the railroad tracks between Redlands and San Bernardino will require some intermittent lane closures between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays beginning Monday, Jan. 13.

In Redlands, work at Eureka Street begins Monday and work on University Street will continue through Friday, according to the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority. Redlands Passenger Rail Project work on Orange Street is expected to begin Jan. 20.

In San Bernardino, the next major work will be at Orange Show Road, but won’t begin until Jan. 27. The street will be closed at the rail crossing.

Work in San Bernardino at Tippecanoe Avenue, and between Richardson Street and Mountain View Avenue, is not expected to cause any closures. At the Santa Ana River Bridge, work is scheduled between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

The work could cause some delays, the agency warns.

The 9-mile line is slated to begin operation in early 2022.
