No Cancellations for Wildfire Zones
California has banned home insurers from dropping policies in areas vulnerable to the effects of wildfire risk. The new policy places a one-year moratorium preventing insurers from dropping customers in or alongside ZIP codes struck by recent wildfires.

Housing Construction – Several large publicly traded homebuilders have shifted toward construction of more modestly priced homes, a segment of the market in high demand and short supply. The Housing Market Index published by the National Association of Home Builders continues to reflect strong homebuilder confidence, pointing toward growth in construction activities. We now expect single-family housing starts to grow by almost 10% during 2020 and to top 1 million new homes in 2021. (Fannie Mae)
Sales by County – In LA County sales rose 5.6%; median at $620,000; Orange County sales rose 6%; median at $725,000; Riverside County sales rose 11%; median at $395,000, and San Bernardino County sales rose 8%; median at $350,000. (SoCal News Group)
Median Price – California home sales and prices retreated in November, though the statewide median price recorded its largest year-over-year price gain in nearly a year and a half. November’s statewide median home price was $589,770, down 2.6% from October and up 6.4% from 2018. (C.A.R.).
