Following are the candidates who are running for the opportunity to represent the membership on the Board of Directors for Citrus Valley Association of REALTORS® for 2018.
President-elect – 2018 – 3-year Term
Danielle Fontes, RE/MAX Masters Realty
Danielle joined Citrus Valley Association of REALTORS® in June 2010.
She has been an active member of the Young Professionals Network (YPN), and its Chair since 2014.
Since 2016, she’s been on the CVAR and C.A.R. Boards of Directors.
She’s been a director of the CAFoundation and its vice president since 2015.
She’s been a member of REPF since 2016, and joined the Budget & Finance Committee and the Women’s Counsel of REALTORS® in 2017.
“I would like to be considered for this position so I can help protect our industry and my fellow REALTORS®. I feel that there is a need for fresh faces to continue the hard work that has been going on in the association for years. I have been plugged into the association and am on board for the direction that it is going. Our No. 1 focus needs to still be how we can provide a better service to our members and we are doing a great job of that so are, and I want to continue that.”
CVAR Board of Directors – 2018 -2-year Term
Sharon Bowler, RE/MAX Masters Realty
Sharon joined Citrus Valley Association of REALTORS® in 1991
She has been an active member of the CVAR Boards of Directors, and has served on numerous committees: Budget & Finance, Bylaws, LCRC, BORPAC, LGR, MLS, Professional Standards, Personnel, Government Affairs Director Task Force, Attorney Task Force, Nominating Committee.
“I believe that the Association is very important to the members and I believe I have the experience and knowledge to help the Association perform for the benefit of its members. I have the ability to get members involved in the Association.
Jackie Doornik, Southland Properties Real Estate Service
Jackie has been a Citrus Valley Association member since 1989.
She has been a member of the LGR committee since 2010, the Grievance Committee from 2014-16, and Pro Standards committees from 2016-present.
“LGR is a committee I enjoy immensely. With my LGR experience and being a commissioner with the City of Glendora, I have developed enough experience to be helpful and knowledgeable with my positive attitude.”
Mark Peterson, RE/MAX Masters Realty
Mark joined CVAR “when CVAR started.”
He has been an active member of the Board of Directors since 2000, except when bylaws mandated time off.
He was President of the CVAR Board of Directors in 2004, and has been a member of the C.A.R. and N.A.R. boards.
Mark has served on multiple committees over the years, including Personnel and LGR, and served as vice president of Citrus Valley in 2016 and 2017.
“I feel I can still contribute to this association and pass on helpful information I learn from chairing zipLogix and being on the Board of Directors for C.A.R. and N.A.R. I have enjoyed playing a role in keeping CVAR a place that members want to be a member!”
Lehel Szucs, All Seasons Real Estate, Inc.
Lehel has been a Citrus Valley Association member since 2002.
He joined the CVAR Board of Directors in 2011, and was its president in 2014.
He has been on numerous committees, including Grievance, LGR, Budget & Finance, Personnel, the Bylaws Task Force, Membership Value, Education, Scholarship, and CRMLS Ops committee, and has been Chair of the Communications and MLS committees.
He’s also been on the C.A.R. and N.A.R. boards of directors.
“I have served the Association for over 8 years now and feel that I have much more to and want to give. With the changing environment of our members we need to be vigilant to serve all the needs of the large brokers to independent brokers as well as the individual agents.”
James Baiseri, KALEO Real Estate Company
James has been a Citrus Valley Association member since 2005.
He holds position of immediate Past-President in 2017, and was the 2016 President, President-elect in 2015, and 2013 vice president. He was also a member of the Board of Directors in 2012.
“I feel my role as a broker-owner, as well as my previous years experience serving in local CVAR leadership, will offer valuable input into the conversation about continuing to add value to our members at large.”
