And Don’t Forget….

CVAR Joins the Party – You Can Too!

“California REALTORS® cannot afford to ignore what occurs in the halls of government because Real Estate is one of the most regulated industries at the local, state and federal level,” according to C.A.R.
A few weeks ago a group of CVAR members, who are RAF donors, took an expense-paid trip to Sacramento to meet our representatives. They showed support for issues that help our clients and keep the real estate industry strong (click the video to find REALTORS® you know participating in the REALTOR® Party!).

Honorary Member for Life – No C.A.R. Dues!

If you’re age 75 and have been a member of C.A.R. for at least 25 years, you may be designated Honorary Member-for-Life by the California Association of REALTORS®.

The deadline is Sept. 2, 2016 to submit an application. The application must be submitted to C.A.R. by your local association (not by you), so e-mail the completed application to memberservices@cvar.net.

Honorary Member-for-Life shall be entitled to all rights and privileges of State Association membership accorded to all members. In order to retain REALTOR® status; however, Honorary-Members-For-Life must maintain their Local and National Association memberships.

To check out the privileges (which include no more C.A.R. dues), get an application or to read more about the requirements CLICK HERE

The reason for the new interpretation of this section of the federal Fair Housing Act? Blame the Internet. Whether a person is ultimately convicted or not, the arrest information is easily obtainable on the Internet, and included in background checks used to choose tenants for housing and apartment rentals.
