HUD Seeks to Scale Back Housing Rule
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is taking steps to scale back a fair housing rule that had sought to combat housing segregation. HUD Secretary Ben Carson says the 2015 rule is standing in the way of efforts to add more affordable housing. READ MORE

Forecast Upgraded – Fannie Mae revised its full-year 2018 economic growth forecast from 2.8% to 3.0%, on expectations that 3rd & 4th quarter inventory restocking will outweigh slowing consumer spending growth and a decline in net exports. (Fannie Mae)
Price Cut – About 14% of all listings in June saw a price cut, up from a recent low of 11.7% at the end of 2016, a sign that sellers are finally responding by lowering prices, especially higher-end homes. (Zillow)
Owners Older – The median age of owner-occupied homes as of the most recent Census survey, in 2016, is 37. That’s up sharply from 31 in 2005 (NAHB)
